Located in the waterfront neighborhood of Southeast Portland, Mr. Formal, Portland is the largest of its four stores. Since 1997, this 5,000-square-foot space has offered customers the most extensive collection of formalwear apparel in the Pacific Northwest, thanks to its sizable rental department, traditional retail department and even an in-house outlet. Check out our outlet filled with discounted garments and accessories, slightly worn items, and fun bargain bins, which are great for creative styling and costumes.

Don’t expect to come into Mr. Formal and start flipping through a bunch of mens’ formalwear catalogs. Our Portland store offers an immersive, customized apparel experience with over 100 suits and tuxedos on our racks in addition to access to the Mr. Formal warehouse, which carries over 100K unique pieces.

Browse this beautifully laid-out store with its fashion displays, mannequins, and your personal stylist, all meant to help you navigate the process and prevent any “overwhelm.” With the guidance of your stylist, you get to touch and try on your selections, even go through swatches of colors and fabrics to expand the possibilities of your vision.

We make minor alterations and tailoring right at our stores. In the rare event that requires a more significant alteration, we partner with a Portland-area alterations company that’s been serving our customers for 20 years. We’ll make sure alterations are done on time, usually within a week or less.

Our free parking lot makes visiting this store a breeze for you and any friends or family. While appointments are encouraged, you’re welcome to walk right in. In fact, this location sees quite a bit of same-day service for job interviews, impromptu weddings, funerals and events.
